Application Process

Step One: LEARN MORE ABOUT US

The best way to decide if Cair Paravel would be a good fit for your child and your family is to tour the school. We also encourage interested families to read about classical Christian education and learn how it is different from traditional public schools and even other Christian schools.

In order to make the most of your partnership with us, it is important to understand what we do and why we do it. The following book is a great resource for families considering a classical Christian approach to education: Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning by Douglas Wilson.

Step Two: SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
Your admissions file is opened when we receive a completed family application, application fee, and a student application for each child applying for admittance. This online process can be started anytime to be considered for mid-year placement for the 2016-17 school year. The 2017-18 application will become available on March 1, 2017. Each student application should have a photo, grade cards for the past two years and standardized test scores for the past two years uploaded during the online process.

APPLICATION FEE: $125 for first child; $100 for second child, $75 for third child and $50 for fourth child

Step Three: ACADEMIC TESTING
The Admissions Department will examine previous school grades and the most recent standardized test scores. Students will meet with a faculty member and complete an academic assessment to confirm that the applicant is academically prepared to join the grade level for which they are applying.

Children applying to kindergarten will have a “Readiness Interview” to determine if they are developmentally ready to learn in a classroom environment. Older students will take more academic-based tests with sections on math, grammar, and reading comprehension. Due to the rigorous academic load, students should not have evidenced any significant learning disabilities or behavioral problems.

Step Four: FAMILY INTERVIEW

The Admissions Director will contact parents to schedule a meeting with a panel of school administrators. This is a vital part of the admissions process and provides a time for everyone to get to know one another more personally. It is also an ideal opportunity for parents to ask any final questions regarding school policies and governance.

Step Five: ACCEPTANCE

Families are notified in writing of their acceptance or denial of admission within one week of the family interview. If an applicant and family are found to be admissible but no space is available at that time, families will have the option of remaining in a waiting pool to be considered should a spot become available.

Step Six: BUSINESS OFFICE

Accepted families will be contacted by the business office to sign their tuition agreement for the upcoming year. Arrangements can be made at this time for monthly tuition payments and automatic withdrawals.

Step Seven: ENROLLMENT

Online Enrollment is to be completed within two weeks of acceptance. Students joining the school mid-year will submit their online enrollment information by the first day of school attendance.
