Hot Lunch Program

Cair Paravel - Latin School operates a state subsidized lunch program during the school year. We use the "Offer vs Serve" program to reduce food waste and allow the students to choose what they wish to eat. Contact Megg Boggs, Food Services Director for more information on this program. Middle and Upper School students, faculty and staff have the option of a chef salad or daily ala carte selections in addition to the daily hot lunch offering. Applications for reduced price lunches are available in the school office.

CPLS uses a lunch tracking system. The Meal Tracker system will utlize a card similar to a credit card. Students (including occasional eaters) teachers, and staff may open an account by purchasing a Lunch/Milk card. Hot lunch, ala carte items and milk may be deducted from this account. High school students are responsible for their own cards and will be charged a $5.00 replacement fee for missing cards. Lunch cards for students in grades K-8 will be kept by the Hot Lunch Bookkeeper.

Daily sign-up for hot lunch:
In the first few minutes of each day students sign up for hot lunch in their homeroom class. Students need to indicate whether they will be eating a hot lunch, chef salad or ala carte. It is important that our count be accurate because the kitchen uses this information to determine how many lunches to prepare each day. If your student will be arriving late for school, please call the school by 9:00am to reserve their hot lunch.

ALA CARTE:
Students in grades 5-12 have the option of purchasing a chef salad, an additional entree selection, or items from the ala carte menu. A rotating menu of daily alternatives to the hot lunch menu is available as well as individual items from the "ALA CARTE CART". These additional items include fruit, cheese sticks, chips, crackers and cookies. Students must have signed authorization from their parent or guardian to charge ala carte items to their school lunch account.
